Ara (Ora) Mack was born around 1894, the daughter of Ella Mack and either John or Tom Mack, who died prior to 1910. Following his death, Ella supported the family through her work as a laundress. The family lived at 304 9th Avenue.
Ara was one of several children, including Lee, Emma, Mattie, and Albert. She died on December 12, 1912, from tuberculosis. Her life reflects the challenges faced by working families and the toll of illness in the early twentieth century.
