Henrietta Ragland was born in November 1863 in Bedford County, Virginia. She was the wife of Robert Ragland.
She later made her home in Roanoke, where she lived at 620 Gainsboro Avenue NW and worked as a domestic servant and laundress. She and her husband were the parents of several children, including Bette, Willie, and Ivey.
Henrietta Ragland died on September 22, 1934, of myocarditis at approximately seventy years of age.
